Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU Mullana or MMDU) is a Deemed-to-be-University that was established in 1993. It has been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the NAAC with Grade ‘A’. Additionally, the Deemed University has two other campuses that are located in Karnal and Solan.
MMU Mullana has a 108-acre campus that offers all the basic facilities for the students. These facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, a healthcare centre, a residential sector for more than 500 faculty and staff members, auditoriums and seminar halls, a library with 1,75,000 books and more than 12,000 print and e-journals, a sports ground, etc. In addition to this, the Deemed University also offers adequate infrastructure facilities to support multiple research activities. Till date, MMDU has filed 76 patents, recording a set of 81 copyrights and 8,000 publications.
The Deemed University has established an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) that assists all the budding entrepreneurs by mentoring them and helping them to plan and execute their startup idea into a real business. To help the students gain industry exposure, MMDU has launched a Campus Business Park. It supports aspiring entrepreneurs with adequate infrastructure and resources. In addition to this, MMDU has a ‘Business Incubation Centre’ that provides corporate identity and business services amongst its students, faculty and alumni. The Deemed University also has an ‘Industrial Consultancy Centre’ that promotes industrial consultation and extends consultancy and R&D services as per the needs of the industry
MMU Mullana Institutes
The Deemed University has 12 institutes functioning under its name. All these institutes collectively offer more than 100 courses at UG, PG, doctoral, diploma and certificate level. These institutes are approved by the regulatory bodies, such as the Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India, Indian Nursing Council, Indian Association of Physiotherapists, All India Council for Technical Education, Bar Council of India, Pharmacy Council of India, etc.
MMU Mullana Admission
MMU Mullana MBBS and BDS admission is done basis NEET UG score whereas admission to BTech programme is done basis JEE Main score. MMU Mullana admission to other UG programmes is done basis merit and counselling rounds.
MMU Mullana admission to MD / MS and MDS programmes is done basis NEET PG and NEET MDS scores, respectively. Further, admission to DM and MCH programme is done basis NEET SS score. MMU Mullana MTech admission is done basis GATE score whereas admission to MBA programme is done basis CMAT / MAT score. For the remaining PG programmes, admission is done basis merit.
MMU Mullana Courses
MMU Mullana offers a plethora of courses across multiple streams, including Engineering, Management, Law, Health Science, etc. These courses are offered at UG, PG and PhD level. Apart from the regular courses, the University also offers integrated programmes, certificate courses, job-oriented courses and diploma programmes. The duration of all UG programmes ranges from three to five and a half years, depending upon the nature of their course curriculum. On the other hand, Integrated and PG programmes are offered for a duration of five and two years, respectively.
MMU Mullana Placements
MMU Mullana has a well-functioning placement department that initiates the training for the graduating students, organises placement and internship drives and mentors the students throughout the placement phase. It offers multiple programmes, including Skills Development, Employability Readiness, Business Communication, Personal Productivity, Managerial Skills, Spoken English and Aptitude Development. The students of MMU Mullana also undergo multiple internship programmes, including internship from October to July of nine months, an internship from January to June of six months and a summer internship from June to July of two months.
A total of 579 students were placed and 87 recruiters visited the campus during MMU Mulana placements 2019. The Highest CTC recorded during MMU Mullana placements 2019 was Rs 18 LPA
